Me Grimlock am best-est! EVER! of ALL TIME!
This best-est Grimlock ever, of all time.
“Me Grimlock kick butt!” This thing is perfect. I love Grimlock in general and collect most anything Dino-bot related. MP Grimlock can best be described as a perfect blend of the old toy’s aesthetics and his cartoon appearance. Throw in a lot of chrome gold, a little die-cast, a lot of features, and this becomes one of my best toy purchases all year.
-Dino-mode-
The T-rex is really T-rex look’n, unlike the raptor-ish design he got in the Classics/ Henkei line. Or the Beast wars Dino-bot repaint (wich was a raptor).
“Me Grimlock want to munch metal.”
The head turns when move his tail left or right.
They even gave him his flame thrower.
Dino eyes Blue…
…switch…switch…switch…
…Dino eyes red.
If you don’t tip him, he will eat your face.
These are the best-est accessories ever, of all time.
This is pure zen for my inner geek.
-Transformation-
Me Grimlock luv stars..
-Bot-mode-
So shiny…. it’s good to see ridiculous amounts of chrome again.
As you can imagine the feet aren’t very pose-able .
The sword and gun light up from an LED in the right hand.
Visor Red.
Visor Blue.
Now, if only there would be more MP Dino-bots…. …if only.
-Score-
Aesthetics: 5 -Grimlock really captures his G1 likeness. He balances the old toy design with his old cartoon line work perfectly. Quality:4.5 -MP Grimlock is solid. He’s not flimsy like MP Megatron, or fragile like the MP Seekers (Star scream, Skywarp, Thunder cracker). He’s as sturdy as MP Prime/Convoy. The chrome is well done, no missed spots or cosmic-rusted in finger prints. Pose-ability: 3.5 -Dino-mode is a bit limited, bot-mode has some problems with the feet and it’s very top heavy. Transformation: 4 -Not too complex, but not too simple. It takes it’s transformation ques right from the old toy with a bit of modernizing. Features: 4 -Lots of stuff here. Eye color change for robot and dino modes (toy eye color vs. TV eye color). Linked tail and head movement, snapping jaws, light up gun and sword via an LED in his right hand, apron bow-tie and severing tray accessories, and mind transfer thing. There’s also a feature when you press down on Grimlock (dino-mode) his head looks up. I’m not sure what that’s all about. Overall: 4 -This toy really bring the MP line back into the spotlight. After the last few lack-luster releases, it’s good to see Tomy stepping up and trying to improve playability and quality. Thankfully they didn’t have Shoji Kawamori step in and change Grimlock’s design at the last minute. If your a Transformer fan or just an import toy collector, this is easly one of the best toy purchases you can make.Tags: Bot, Dino, Grimlock, Masterpiece
