Legend has it….
…the battle for Earth is a lot smaller than you might think.
I always love the legends class, small, fun, and cheap. But oddly enough I always hated the mini-cons, they were small, cheap, and butt-ugly.
This video has the transformations for all four Legends class figures from this review.
-Bumble Bee-
We finally get a US release of the new Camaro Bumblebee. As far as I know, Australia was the only country that saw a release of this Bumblebee in 07. It was a toy in a kids meal at some fast food chain. There was also a translucent yellow version made for some Japanese toy convention (wonder fest maybe?). This version has a remolded front end to match the new look of BB from the new film.
Legends Barricade finally has a worthy rival.
Too bad he lacks the articulation needed to attack him.
TOY CRACK: 4.5 (susceptibility to convulsive purchasing) -This little guy is certainly toy crack. It will hand your money to the cashier itself. OVERALL: 5 -A nice legends class, Bee’s aesthetics translated well to the tiny figure.-Optimus Prime-
A completely new mold for Revenge of the Fallen. The last movie legends Prime didn’t really look like anything. Seriously it looked like twisted plastic. Not only dose this Prime look like a truck, but it looks like a robot too.
Seriously, for such a small simple toy it dose an awesome job of capturing Prime’s aesthetics.
Now we need a G1 style Legends Prime. Takara’s WST Prime is a little too small.
TOY CRACK: 5 -Another strong crack rating, I can’t resist mini-Primes. OVERALL: 5 -The ROTF legends prime blows away the first movie legend. Prime looks like Prime, and transforms pretty well for such a small toy.-Jetfire-
Jetfire didn’t turn out so well. His SR-71 mode looks bad. But he’s a complicated Transformer, even the Leader class has trouble getting Jetfire to look right.
Wow, such a convincing flying effect.
Robot mode looks alright, the arms are the worst part of it.
Jetfire combines with Prime by way of a tab on his back. There were no instructions on how Jetfire was suppose to transform for the combine mode, so I just improvised.
TOY CRACK: 3 -The main reason to get the toy is because it can “combine” with Prime. OVERALL: 3.5 -This guy is a fun little toy, but looks are not on it’s side. His alt mode suffers the most while his bot mode only looks decent.-Sideswipe-
Just like Bumblebee, Swipe makes a great transition to Legends class. Car robots always seem to do well in this size class. Now we need a Sideways to pair him up with.
The front end of the Corvette seems to be very happy.
Like father, like son. Both versions have great smiles.
Little Swipe could use some more color on his bot mode.
TOY CRACK: 4.5 -The perfect mini-me companion to your DX Sideswipe. OVERALL: 4.5 -The aesthetics translate well, but the weak hip joints make for a lot of surprise leg pop-offs.-Tom.B

I got him from a local Walmart. I’ve also seen him at Toys R Us.
