There are several Kre-O price points so if you looking to test the waters, you wont have to spend much. Keep in mind though, the cheapest assortment doesn’t come with the little Kreon G1 style figures.

There have been a lot of questions about these figures, the biggest being “Do they transform when your finished”, and sadly the answer is no. You can build either robot or car. If you want to change it from one to the other, you will have to disassemble it then reassemble it. Depending on the part count that can be a lengthy endeavor.

I got Jazz, he’s in the second cheapest assortment and only 122 pieces.

Everything comes in a nifty reusable box.

The Kre-O head looks a lot like his recent Generation DX figure’s.

Building is pretty strieght forward, there’s no need to document every step.

When car mode is finished, this is what you get. Was it worth it? WAS IT!!??

Even little Jazz can drive himself. Does this count as playing with yourself?

Time to tear it all apart and do it again.

Bot mode certainly isn’t an incredible example of block building, but seeing that the same blocks are used to make a car and a bot, I can live with it.

Each mode will have some left over parts, maybe that’s why the box is reusable (ie, container style).

Well, there you have it. A brief look at Hasbro’s new lego-esc toy line. While the Transformers kick off the new line, they don’t really live up to their namesake. Hopefully in the future releases there will be some Transformer models that are capable of some simple transformations.

Ramjet, Sunstorm, and Dirge.

The quality is awesome, and there have been a few improvements over Takara’s original Starscream mold.

Sunstorm’s tail wings fold forward just like the original G1 toy. Takara’s mold didn’t do that. Also they all have translucent canopies, Takara’s was just painted.

Nothing amazing, just wanted to share. I’ll take a few more photos in the next few days.

I don’t have a real Takara WST Prime trailer to compare this custom too, I really don’t feel like spending the crazy money it takes to get one.  There have been several KO versions of WST Prime’s trailer, mostly due to how hard it was to get the real trailer. But out of all the KO’s this one is actually better than the real one.

The color scheme is based off Takara’s second WST Prime trailer, the so called “anime colored version”. And yes, the Prime cab did come with the trailer.

Once you open the trailer, you greeted by a perfect mini-replica of the repair drone. Takara only hand a small static piece of plastic that kinda resembled the drone.  This drone works just like the real one, spinning radar dish, opening claw and canopy, and an articulated neck. There is even a detailed Roller launcher (although it is just a static piece).

The KO Prime compared to the real one. There are plenty of differences, but the KO Prime is still very nice. KO Prime got two new guns, one based on the skinny rifle and the other based on the bloated rife.

Whoever these HeeroToys-Freinds are, they make some seriously awesome stuff! They also have some WST Seekers that are quite nice. If your looking to expand your WST collection your definitely going to need some of their toys.

I’ve always had a soft spot for the WST line, and I’m really glad that there folks out there who are doing their best at keeping the series going. I’m not sure who makes these, but I got them from an E-bay seller called “HeeroToysMaker”. Not sure if that’s the creator or just the seller, but he will put these figures up from time to time.

The quality on these are just amazing. The plastic is a sturdy ABS. The details are also just amazing. I got one in G1 colors and one in the original Diaclone Powered Convoy colors. There are two more colors as well, a glow in the dark, and a translucent yellow in homage to the E-Hobby exclusive.

Compared with the new Kabaya Magnus kit (which is complete garbage BTW).

All aboard!!

The Magnus cabs are KO’s of Takara’s WST Optimus Prime. The quality is actually very nice, and the creator even added peg-holes in the hands. The White Magnus cab is a little on the blue side, but that’s ok seeing how the real chase Magnus figure goes for around $90!

The transformation is just like the real figure, but the blue chest piece and the waist piece do not detach.

Again, the Kabaya model reeks of failure.

All in all these things rock (cept for the Kabaya kit, it can die for all I care). The WST figures tend to go for about $30 and pop-up under the E-Bay seller “HeeroToysMaker”  from time to time. Just keep an eye out for them, if your a WST fan you wont be disappointed.

The editor window is HTML only, no visual editor (at least on mine) so making an entry can be tedious especially with the little QWERTY-touch keyboard putting in all the HTML tags manually, while keeping Droid from trying to auto-spellcheck. Still the app sends the post right to the main page and it allows me to make simple entries when I’m away from my home PC. So keeping my site up to date just got a lot easier. All in all it’s a useful little app, here’s hoping a more advanced version comes along.

The best things about the app are it’s abilities to push and pull posts, edit live posts, add images, send draft up, and edit existing non-mobile entries. I can even approve or block comments for those annoying spam bots.

Using some free doodle apps, I can even draw some silly images to insert into the post.

I picked these up at Toys R Us a few weeks ago, and decided to take some snapy snaps. First up are these two magnetic figures of Iron Man and War Machine. They stand around 6″ tall and have 4 magnetic joints, one for each shoulder, one in the waist and one in the neck. I wish I had magnetic shoulders.

The lolly-pop guild gets serious.

The armor comes off to reveal this very Terminator-ish skeleton underneath.

The range of movement is actually pretty good.

There is a soft PVC band around the shoulder, it helps the magnetic joints stay tight.

Take it apart again and again, this toy teaches you the joys of dismemberment.

War Machine. He has stuff! Just like in the movie!

W.M. includes his big-ol-gatling-gun, and his shoulder launcher full of ineffective “Hammer-brand” munitions.

“THERE CAN BE ONLY ONE!!“

These little wastes of time and money sure are fun.

Ok, now for the big guy. This is Mega blok’s mega-sized Iron Man buildy figure. This thing is almost 12″ tall, and by almost I mean 10″ tall. But it still feels big in the dark……

Nice claws.

This figure has TONS of articulation.

The chest opens to reveal that Tony Stark has no heart after all.

All the armor is removable.  Sadly the face place doesn’t flip up like the smaller ones.

While the big figure is cool, the little magnetic one is the better of the two. Buy him, love him, and one day set him free so he can case women and drink booze. We love you little Tony Stark.

Not sure why they chose Blaster and Shockwave for their next WST’s but I’m glad they did. The Dinorobots were made larger than Takara’s original WST lineup, I guess it was to simulate how the Dinobots were bigger than the rest of the Autobots. Blaster and Shockwave however, are now made in scale with the original WST, so as you can imagine they are tiny little toys.

I love how sharp and crisp all the detailing is on these little guys. 

I mean little guys.

The Boom Box handle bends inward, but at this size it’s forgivable.

WST Blaster actually comes with a WST Steel Jaw.

Blaster and his nemesis, Soundwave.

You need to be careful when transforming Blaster, his arms pop off if you use to much force. The tiny gun is perfect.

G1 Blaster was a much larger toy than G1 Soundwave, but Just-i-toys has corrected that. They’re now a perfect complement for each other.

Just to give you an idea as to how small Ravage and Steel Jaw are.5 out of 5 starsToy crack: 5 – A must get for any Blaster or WST fan.

4 out of 5 starsOverall: 4 - It’s a great little toy. The arms come off a little easily but look how small those ball joints are. To be honest it’s a very impressive feat of toy engineering.

-Shockwave-

Shockwave is more impressive than Blaster. What with the transparent parts, and a spring-loaded pop-up head gimmick. The tube running into the barrel is made of a very soft and flexible material.

And yes, he’s just as tiny.

Ahh the evil Decepticon guns. Perfect complements.

The arms have tiny ball joints at the shoulders, and even tinier ball joints in the elbows. Oh, and the outer hales of his legs are die-cast.

Just-i-toys WST’s are more accurate scaled down renditions of the G1 toys. But in Takara’s defense, their WST were like $3 dollar toys, and it didn’t take them 2 years to produce 2 figures.

I hear Astro-train, Six-shot and Blitzwing will be the next WST figures that Just-i-toys makes. I’m not going to hold my breath though. If Just-i-toys has one major flaw, it’s that they can’t deliver anything on time. 5 out of 5 starsToy crack: 5 – This toy is the very embodiment of toy crack.

4.5 out of 5 starsOverall: 4.5 - The only thing that would make the toy rock harder would be if it lit up when you pulled the trigger (but the trigger actually doesn’t move).

I remember when Just-i-toys announced these new WST, they actually implied that Sun Streaker was going to be made as well. But Sun Streaker didn’t happen, much to my disappointment. So I’m not going to get to excited over the WST triple-changers and Six-shot, not until I see some prototypes. Seriously though, great job Just-i-toys.  If you keep making ‘em like this take all the time you need.

Hasbro already has an extensive line of 3 inch IronMan 2 figures, but if you find those to be too small, try these instead. The IronMan MK. VI and WarMachine figures are Walmart exclusives, but they should be easy enough to find. They retail around $11.99 per figure. That’s half the price of the FUGLY Marvel Select  IronMan 2 figures.

Each figure come with interchangeable hands molded in various poses.

WarMachine’s bullet ribbon is made of a soft flexible material. The chain gun can also pivot on a ball joint and slide from shoulder to shoulder.

To make things better, WarMachine also comes with a shoulder rocket launcher (right shoulder only, must be pegged on). All the MK. VI gets is a crummy spring loaded launcher (looks like it was just scaled up from the 3in figure).

Both these figures rock! The proportions are right on the money, the poseability is great, they look better than the Marvel Select line, and they are cheaper than Hot toys 12in figure (which rock to no end).
